ROMANIA

TRAVEL TO Romania



Main airports:


Bucharest is 16kilometer 10 miles north of the city (travel time 25 minutes). The six Mini-passes give travelers the freedom to visit three cities, with prices starting from 55 pounds. Travelers can continue as long as they like in each city.

LANGUAGE



Romanian is the authorized language. Some German and Hungarian are spoken in boundary areas, while principally some English and French are spoken by those associated with the tourist business.

SOCIAL CONVENTIONS



Handshaking is the mainly frequent form of greeting, but it is habitual for men to kiss a woman’s hand when being introduce. Mr. or Mrs. should be used when salutation somebody for the first time. Visitors should pursue normal European courtesies on community occasion. Dress tends to be to a certain extent unadventurous but casual wear is appropriate. Beachwear should not be worn away from the seashore or pool-side. If visit a home, a petite gift should be given to the crowd, such as chocolates (to women only), flower, wine or liquor. Flowers are supposed to be given as a gift in odd numbers merely. Luxury hotels have elected no-smoking floors but very not many restaurants have any smoking section.

Nightlife:


Bucharest has a on the increase number of disco and night-clubs with amusement and live dancing. Restaurants at most chief hotels double as night-clubs and there are also a number of Parisian-style cafes. Two casinos function in the Calea Victoriei. Opera is performing at the Romanian Athenaeum, the Romanian Opera House. Folk amusement is performing at the Rapsodia Romania creative Ensemble Hall and there are an amount of theatres.

Shopping:


High-quality purchases comprise pottery, embroideries, porcelain, carpets, silverware, ceramics, glassware, crystal, fabrics, woodcarvings, , wool jumpers, metal, leather goods, glass paintings, rugs and silk dresses.
